When you use web search, Zark AI is designed to retrieve public information while keeping your workspace data private. The following sections explain what information is shared, what remains private, and how search data is handled.

What Information Is Shared

To perform a web search, Zark sends limited information to external search services. Shared information:
  • The search query you submit
  • Optional search parameters (such as time range or content type)

Not shared:

  • Files uploaded to your workspace
  • Private documents or internal data
  • Conversation history beyond the active query
  • Personal or sensitive information stored in your workspace

Your Workspace Data Stays Private

Your workspace data remains private at all times. Web search operates by retrieving publicly available information and returning it into your conversation. Your files, documents, and internal data are not transmitted to external services.

Search History and Context

Your search history and the articles Zark reads are part of your conversation context. This means:
  • You have a record of what was researched
  • You can see what sources were consulted
  • Zark can reference previous searches in follow-up questions
  • All search activity stays within your secure conversation

Public Information Only

Web search only accesses publicly available information. Zark cannot access:
  • Private websites or password-protected content
  • Your personal accounts or private data
  • Information behind paywalls (unless you have access)
  • Content that requires authentication

Data Security

All search queries and results are handled securely:
  • Queries are sent over encrypted connections
  • Results are processed securely within your conversation
  • No search data is stored externally beyond what’s needed for the search
  • Your conversation remains private and secure

Best Practices

To reduce risk when using web search:
  • Avoid including sensitive information in search queries
  • Review sources before sharing search results publicly
  • Use specific queries rather than including unnecessary context
  • Be deliberate about the information you request from external sources
